English National Curriculum

Following the English National Curriculum, our students have a balanced, enriching and complete learning experience with active, experiential learning at the heart of our offer. Our teachers, who come from all over the world, are committed to instilling an international mindset; our students embrace the opportunity to intertwine local geography and history alongside British values and world festivities.

Lessons are often cross-curricular, meeting several subject objectives simultaneously. The subject areas include:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Science
  • Topic (History and Geography)
  • Computing
  • Art
  • Music
  • P.E. (Physical Education)
  • PSHRE (Personal, Social, Health and Religious Education)
  • Programma Ministeriale Italiano or International Italian
  • Spanish (Year 5 and Year 6)

Our philosophy of enabling learning through play ensures the development of the whole child as an individual. Our teachers create fun and hands-on learning experiences which support each child’s progress towards the early learning goals.

The broad programme is built upon the following areas:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Maths
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

In these years our students continue to build skills and knowledge with a balanced approach to learning through play and direct teacher instruction. Our students develop fluency in their English language skills as well as a key focus on social skills and independence. Lessons are often cross curricular, meeting several subject objectives in one lesson and helping students to make stronger connections with context to their learning.
